CITIC Tower

Sculpting Beauty Within Landmarks
Located in the heart of Beijing’s Central Business District, China Zun (CITIC Tower) stands as an icon redefining the city’s skyline. As CITIC Group’s flagship property, the tower exemplifies a seamless blend of architectural innovation, cultural significance, and urban sophistication.
Zhengyin Art was honored to be commissioned for the design and creation of bespoke artworks throughout the tower’s interior spaces. Drawing from the building’s distinctive architectural language and CITIC Group’s rich cultural legacy, our team developed a series of original, site-specific installations. Through a thoughtful integration of art and space, we infused the environment with a unique aesthetic and profound cultural resonance, elevating the overall spatial experience.
This collaboration marks a significant milestone for Zhengyin Art in the field of custom art for landmark architecture, underscoring our commitment to advancing the role of contemporary art in shaping meaningful, enduring spaces.

This installation artwork is crafted from forged copper, featuring undulating, flowing lines inspired by the elegance and rhythm of Chinese calligraphy. Through graceful and dynamic curves, the piece captures the free-spirited essence and lyrical beauty inherent in calligraphic art. The meticulously forged and polished copper surface reveals a warm, rich texture that shifts subtly with changing light, enhancing its unique depth and character.
From the early stages of spatial planning, the installation was integrated into the interior design with a specially reserved niche, ensuring a seamless fusion between the artwork and the surrounding space. Through the interplay of lighting and materials, the piece becomes a harmonious and striking focal point, embodying a contemporary interpretation of Eastern aesthetics and infusing the environment with a distinct cultural sophistication and artistic atmosphere.

Ink Pool: The Origin of Calligraphy
Part of the Ink Pool series, this artwork is inspired by the concept of Wu Sheng You — existence emerging from non-existence — and embodies the philosophical spirit of Taiji and the genesis of all things. Through fluid, ink-washed textures, it evokes a sense of the universe’s primal beginning, symbolizing how corporate culture is rooted in local traditions and evolves through organic transformation.
At the center, ink radiates outward in soft gradients, reflecting the primordial state — the Taiyuan, where all life originates. Outlined with delicate cloisonné filigree, the shimmering metal lines enhance the depth and mystery of the ink forms, blending tradition with contemporary aesthetics.
The circular composition mirrors the form of Taiji: stillness within motion, motion within stillness. This work is both a tribute to Eastern philosophical wisdom and a metaphor for a company’s dynamic yet grounded cultural foundation — inclusive, resilient, and ever-evolving.

Dance of the Great River: The Eternal Flow
Inspired by aerial photography of river origins, this artwork captures the majestic transition from delicate streams to vast, surging rivers. The mural’s abstract depiction of water veins illustrates the convergence of countless rivers into the sea, symbolizing unity, inclusiveness, and collective strength.
In the foreground, the sculpture — cast in bronze — draws inspiration from the textures etched into rocks by flowing water, preserving the marks of time and symbolizing resilience and accumulated strength. The bronze surface, treated with special techniques, reveals a rich texture and a profound sense of history, infusing the piece with a sense of timeless solidity.

Ripples of the Five Virtues
Inspired by the Five Constant Virtues of traditional Chinese philosophy — benevolence (仁), righteousness (义), propriety (礼), wisdom (智), and faith (信) — this suspended installation deconstructs and reimagines the strokes of Chinese characters. Cast in glass, the characters are arranged in a rhythmic, descending sequence through the central atrium of a three-story spiral staircase, embodying the unbroken flow of virtue.
Beneath, a round basin hand-carved from white marble anchors the piece, symbolizing the depth and tranquility of virtue, calm and enduring. Carefully integrated lighting plays a critical role, casting the intricate silhouettes of the glass characters onto the pure white spiral wall. These dynamic shadows intertwine with the tangible forms, creating layered visual narratives where light and form merge, enriching the spatial experience with a sense of depth and motion.
The clarity of glass, the warmth of marble, and the ephemeral beauty of light and shadow come together to create a serene yet profound atmosphere — a poetic dialogue between traditional Eastern wisdom and contemporary spatial aesthetics.

Mountains Embracing Distant Waters
Inspired by the timeless beauty of natural landscapes, this artwork constructs a flowing dialogue between solidity and lightness through layers of acrylic and stainless steel. The piece captures the undulating rhythm of mountains and the serene continuity of rivers. The intricate lines and layered forms blend opacity with transparency, evoking the subtle philosophy of void and flow found in traditional Eastern landscape painting.
Installed in the VIP lounge, the piece invites close viewing, revealing refined details of material textures and nuanced light reflections. The soft translucency of acrylic contrasts with the cool strength of stainless steel, creating a dynamic balance that bridges nature’s poetry with contemporary craftsmanship.
Through the interplay of materials and light, the artwork transforms the space into a quiet, contemplative retreat — where the act of waiting becomes an experience of stillness and reflection.
